Midwich Group unveils investment arm

Midwich Group has announced that it is launching a corporate venture-capital arm, supporting entrepreneurs’ innovation within the industry.

Midwich Ignite will focus on investments in high-growth start-ups and scale-ups within AV and the wider technology ecosystem globally. It will operate as a standalone enterprise and will focus on sectors such as emerging AV technologies, smart and connected spaces, hospitality and event technology, as well as robotics and automation.

Midwich Ignite managing director, Alex Kemanes, said: “Having worked in the AV industry for many years, both as a value-add distributor and as an investor, I am excited to be heading up this new venture.

“It will bridge the gap between finance and deep industry knowledge to help drive innovation in our industry and support those entrepreneurs who are at the forefront of technological transformation.”

Midwich Group managing director, Stephen Fenby, said: “Midwich is deeply embedded in the AV industry, with thousands of customers and vendors, as well as a large, knowledgeable and highly connected team. Midwich Ignite gives us the opportunity to promote innovation in the industry by leveraging our extensive capabilities.”
