Procom shines a light on CLYMB

Situated on Yas Island Abu Dhabi, the world's biggest skydiving chamber, CLYMB, has recently received a new architectural lighting system capable of illuminating its entire façade. Designed and installed by Procom Middle East, the new solution comprises Cyclops lighting fixtures and Madrix control, and is capable of both colour wash and colour mapping for special events.

An array of 22 Cyclops Lighting Flash 288 LED washes were installed at ground level, illuminating the building uniform colour. The Flash 288 fixtures are equipped with 88 20W RGBW LEDs as well as a magnetic diffuser filter included to produce various beam angles. It is wireless control ready with the built-in wireless DMX (W-DMX) receiver from Wireless Solutions Sweden.

All of the lighting fixtures were connected to Madrix Aura via W-DMX using 4 Whitebox F-2 G5 transceivers. A Madrix Aura standalone lighting controller controls the wash effect, changes colours during the week and schedules the effect so that it turns on and off automatically. Visual designs for all the holiday events were also programmed, including UAE national day. Along with this, a pixel mapped wash effect was created in the tunnel leading from Yas Mall to CLYMB utilising 16 CPX 416OB wash bars and a single Madrix Aura.
