Procom outfits Clap Dubai
Located on the rooftop of DIFC, Clap Dubai restaurant opened its doors at the end of 2020 to deliver an authentic sensory Japanese dining experience to local patrons. Procom Middle East was called upon to outfit the space with a discrete audio solution and all-encompassing visual setup.
The venue is comprised of four separate spaces: an indoor dining room, outdoor dining terrace, an outdoor lounge and a nightclub, Ongaku. Inspired by Tokyo’s nightlife, the client wanted the bar to be covered with LED displays, leading Procom to create a custom circular bar integrated with LED screens by Visiotek. The bar can be divided in half so that one half sits in the inside of the club and the other half in the outer lounge. In addition, each part can be controlled individually via an Avolites Ai Q3 media server, offering full flexibility of the 234 3.9mm pixel pitch Visiotek outdoor panels installed.
The venue had multiple requirements for its new sound system, including a discreet design, high-power, reliability and superior sound quality. To cover the indoor dining area, six K-Array KP52 passive speakers, two KMT18P subwoofers and a pair KMT12P ultra-light passive subs were incorporated. Meanwhile, on the terrace, 14 KK52 weatherproof speakers were paired with seven KMT12P subs for outdoor reinforcement.
The indoor club has been catered to with five KF26 compact speakers, four KX12 ultra-slim speakers, three KMT18P subs and twoKMT12P subs, while a further five KP52 speakers and four KMT12P subs cover the outdoor club. For the bar, six KP52 are complemented by two KMT18P subwoofers. A monitor system dedicated to each of the two DJ sets comprises dual KF210 monitors and a single KMT12 active subwoofer each, running on Blustream D811AU Dante units. For the main entrance, toilets and elevator areas, CL 8T speakers from DAS Audio were deployed.
In order to provide intuitive control for the staff, Procom built a customised all-in-one Symetrix control interface on an iPad capable of providing complete control of the LED displays, sound sources, sound levels and audio zoning. A Symetrix Prism 12×12 digital signal processor, control server and three xControls were connected to the app, allowing for audiovisual control of the whole venue via a click of a button.
