Densitron and Techex form technology partnership
Densitron has entered into a technology partnership with Techex. The two companies will work together to identify opportunities for the integration of the former’s Intelligent Display System solution with the latter’s MWcore IP video products.
A recently completed project for UK broadcaster BBC Wales has already seen IDS integrated into the MWcore IPTV management platform, which was developed specifically for mission-critical broadcast environments. The companies say that the combination of solutions brings unprecedented flexibility to the display and monitoring systems in studios across the new site, enabling each STB (set-top box) device to display content name information, switch power on/off, set/recall volume level, set/recall channel and change TV input source, among other essential tasks.
“The combination of IDS and MWcore at BBC Wales has given rise to a very elegant way of controlling audio and video sources and settings for the displays used in studios across the broadcast centre,” commented Reuben Such, global business director of Densitron IDS. “Techex is an established leader in IPTV innovation, and we believe that the integration with our IDS solution will appeal to customers not just in broadcast, but in other application areas such as AV and digital signage. We look forward to introducing new packages featuring both companies' innovative technologies in the next few months.”
"The flexibility and scalability of IPTV solutions for broadcast facilities has resulted in an ongoing implementation of these technologies worldwide,” added Techex director, Richard Bailey. “The BBC Wales project underlines the capabilities of IP-based installations and, more specifically, the power of our MWcore solution in conjunction with Densitron's IDS solution. Through this partnership, we look forward to promoting this combination that has yielded a display monitoring and control solution of considerable flexibility at the new facilities.”
