Middle East:

In order to keep its workforce updated in AV and event technology, eclipse has created several internal training events for its staff. The programme was designed to take advantage of the current Coronavirus situation while improving the team’s knowledge and the sessions were attended by individuals in the multi-disciplinary team.

The audio training was designed to cover the field of electroacoustics, point source and line array theory, as well as system design and time alignment. Attended by the audio team, project and sales managers, as well as individuals in other technical disciplines, the training was created to educate and inform the attendees on the decision-making process when considering sound reinforcement for live events.

As part of the video training, a broad overview of video technology was covered including its uses to other disciplines within the company. The session also consisted of several topics including LED wall displays, switchers, fibre optic systems and signals, basic projection, media servers and playback as well as camera systems.

The lighting training allowed participants to exchange their knowledge and experience with one another. Individuals gained an understanding of basic to advanced programming using both ChamSys and grandMA consoles while working with WYSIWYG. The lighting team was introduced into the creative understanding of the lighting field while undergoing training on basic lighting design.

For the rigging training, attendees performed maintenance on Lodestar and Liftket hoists which entailed adjusting the clutch, checking brake pads and chain stretches. The session also covered all aspects of installation such as health and safety, metering distribution boards and the fundamentals of wiring regulations and were also shown electrical supply system components.

‘Every year, we offer ongoing and ample training and development to all staff, so we understand the significance of investing in our people,’ commented Martin Lubach, eclipse staging services’ general manager. ‘Our commitment to continuously enhance our capabilities, maintain industry leadership and deliver the highest standards of service to clients is core to our inherent values.’
