GatesAir hires EMEA regional sales director

EMEA:

Matt Smith has joined GatesAir’s EMEA team as regional sales director. Reporting to the company’s managing director for the EMEA region, Smith brings more than 15 years of industry experience to the role, in which he will focus on business growth and managing go-to-market initiatives across nearly 30 countries.

Smith’s background includes roles of increasing responsibility at Envivio and Harmonic, where his most recent position was as director for key accounts in the UK and Ireland. Throughout his career, Smith has reportedly developed a strong global network of industry relationships with broadcasters and TV service providers that he will leverage as he looks to strengthen GatesAir’s partner network and reseller base throughout the EMEA territory.

With a plethora of experience in systems engineering and support that has given him a detailed knowledge of the broadcast workflow, Smith looks forward to helping broadcasters implement digital TV and DAB Radio systems that balance technical performance with long-term operational efficiency.

GatesAir has also welcomed Oscar Hu as its new regional sales manager for Southeast Asia and Antonio Satta as sales director for the Caribbean and Latin America. Commenting on all three appointments, Rich Redmond, GatesAir’s international president and managing director, said: ‘The collective industry experience of nearly 50 years between all three appointments will only add to the global business momentum and long-term success of GatesAir. GatesAir’s main international initiative has been to establish a stronger global presence, and that strategy included hiring experienced resources with a regional presence that would bring us closer to our customers. We welcome Antonio, Matt and Oscar to the GatesAir team.’
