The X-EQ 2 from Solid State Logic replaces the existing X-EQ plug-in

Solid State Logic’s new Native 6.3 release introduces the X-EQ 2 plug-in as part of the SSL Native studio plug-ins series, allowing the authorisation of SSL Native licences on computers instead of a physical iLok dongle. This means that all SSL Native 6.3 plug-ins can now be authorised to a computer.

X-EQ 2 replaces the existing X-EQ plug-in, bringing a redesigned graphical interface, re-written algorithms and other new features, such as SSL’s anti-cramping DSP, the ability to create up to 24 EQ bands with a choice between 17 classic and modern filter shapes and EQ types, M/S processing modes, Band Solo and extra analysis tools including Phase and Step response plots, and significant DSP optimisation to keep the computer’s CPU load low.

In other news, SSL has added to its catalogue of Dante-based IP network I/O solutions with the HC Bridge SRC. This has been built to provide passage for 256 bidirectional channels of sample rate conversion for AoIP networks. The HC bridge SRC enables an audio connection between devices running at different sample rates or in different clock domains on Dante (48kHz and 96kHz), AES67 or ST 2110-30 networks. The two bridged network connections can be physically or virtually separate, allowing for control isolation between two sets of equipment where an AoIP discovery and control firewall is needed.

Finally, the latest Live V4.9 console and SOLSA software has been released by the British manufacturer, delivering a host of feature updates and performance enhancements. These include the new Patch Manager for importing and exporting input patches, talkback groups, speed enhancements for scene recalls and routing page navigation, plus several additional workflow and functionality improvements.
