World:

Matt Lloyd is leaving British LED lighting manufacturer GDS, a company that he co-founded with Richard Cuthbert. Mr Lloyd had served as managing director for the majority of the company’s 15-year history, moving into the role of sales director for entertainment in the summer of 2018, while Mr Cuthbert took on the managing director position. More recently, Mr Lloyd had been working in a consultancy role, but a new change in direction, following the sale of key brands, including ArcSystem to ETC, led GDS to terminate the arrangement.

‘I’ve had 14 amazing years at GDS,’ said Mr Lloyd. ‘My experiences have been entirely positive and being immersed in helping to create, develop and deliver cutting-edge products as part of such a fantastic team has been a joy. I will take forward so many invaluable lessons into the next chapter of my career. The freedom to operate across different sectors of industry is something I’m relishing and I’m very much up for the challenge.’

Mr Lloyd established gb4u in September 2018, a consultancy that assists businesses with strategies for growth and development. ‘I’m confident that gb4u will continue to grow as a productive source of support for a wide range of businesses, fostering enterprise and helping to achieve great commercial success,’ added Mr Lloyd.
