Each Trinity 10 module features a Coherent Midrange Integrator (CMI)

PK Sound has released what it believes to be the first mid-sized, three-dimensionally controlled sound system of its kind. Trinity 10 is configured remotely to provide users with a completely new set of tools and control over the vertical and horizontal polar directivity of the entire array. The system is powered by a 3,000W, Class-D amplifier to maximise headroom and maintain clear audio output. As Trinity 10 uses the same high- and mid-frequency components and waveguide as the larger Trinity module, PK Sound reports ‘seamless integration’ when both models are used together.

Each Trinity 10 module features a Coherent Midrange Integrator (CMI) to combine mid- and high-range frequencies along with precisely spaced low-frequency apertures for smooth and controlled directivity. The CMI waveguide is variably adjustable from 50° to 120°, both symmetrically and asymmetrically, giving engineers the ability to focus the sound field and increase the loudspeaker’s long-throw capabilities by increasing its sensitivity. 

Trinity 10 is equipped with dual bandpass loaded, 10-inch transducers and two 6.5-inch midrange transducers coupled to a CMI waveguide through phase plugs designed to increase sensitivity and integrate with high frequencies. The system also features a dual driver high-frequency compression device coupled directly to an integrated planar waveguide to reportedly reduce the overall length, internal diffraction and distortion across the entire high-frequency band.

PK Sound’s Kontrol software allows users access to internal functions of each module remotely, so that each array can be flown straight or adjusted in the air. Trinity 10 also uses Auto-Align, a rigging system that is remotely adjustable from 0° to 12° in 0.1° increments. The system also provides 25 individual horizontal directivity options that can be arranged in any order in the array and fine-tuned on the fly, so that users can change the directivity of the system to suit any number of audience configurations in different venues.
