UAE: Maestra Dubai has acquired 100 sq-m of 3.9mm flex:led LED screen that was developed especially for the events production company in partnership with an Asian manufacturer. The solution is a high resolution surface that can be curved or twisted at an angle of up to 10-degrees. It is intended for use at indoor events.

The investment forms part of the ongoing expansion of Maestra Group’s video department across both its Dubai and London-based operations. The group as a whole is currently also in the process of obtaining eight 14K Christie projectors, multiple Dataton Watchout 6 servers and an Analog Way Ascender 32 switcher as it adds further video focused services to its client offerings. These include the in-house production of content and the provision of camera and PPU packages, media servers, control and projection systems

‘We had been looking for a premium quality LED screen product for some time to offer continuity and cost-effectivity to all our clients,’ explained Tom Clements of Maestra Dubai. ‘After a lot of research we concluded that the best option was to develop our own, working directly with a manufacturing partner.’

Once Maestra had taken stock of its new flex:led screen, it put the system to use for Art Dubai 2017, deploying 4m x 2.5m for a time-lapse video named Coloured Glass Panels, an award winning piece by Bangladeshi-British artist Rana Begum. A further section of the LED screen solution was used as the stage backdrop for the 11th Global Art Forum, which took place during the festival.
